Courage is an expression of the voice of ones soul. In the summer of 96 after having lost everything in a failed business venture I left town with but the clothes on my back and lived on the streets for a few months. However I refused to let my situation define me. I am more that the sum of my struggles , I am the creator of my personal destiny.

I remember being approached on the street by someone from the town I had left to come to my new street dwellings. She asked me If I would talk to her teenage daughter should I came back to town. Not knowing my situation she looked at me and said " You look at Peace , Things must be going so well for you!" The reason I looked that way was because even when we are down in life we can hold our heads high.

Courage is not measured by battles won but by souls touched. Even while living on the street surrounded by strangers people would seek me out for advice and counsel. Truth is beautiful and to that end I sought to engage spirits and plant seeds of positivity. Knowledge is your right and I learned from my experiences and used that wisdom to enrich , enlighten and educate. Mine is a journey of healing and awakening.

Twelve years later I can look back at my path of independence and see my time on the streets not as a burden but as a tool for transformation. I chose to live with a lifted spirit and seek higher states of being. We all have a contribution to make to the world. Dreams come alive when you live with courage and lead by example. The heart of the human spirit is a nurturing ocean of light.

We must be active participants in our own evolution. Courage is a choice . By choosing courage we manifest our fullest potential and contribute to the health of humankind. I am an active creator in my life and the many obstacles I have faced are but experiences that encourage inspiration and expand awareness. I have faced the trials and tribulations presented me as empowering and thereby illuminating.

Conscious Courage is the ability to choose to be a facilitator not a victim , a nurturer not a perpetrator , a beacon of light not a shadow of conspiracy. Conscious Communication expresses the essential you and allows you to be an agent of positive change. Whether I was living on the street , struggling in the face of my parents alcoholism , battling depression or simply surviving , I have evoked my highest self and acknowledged the miracle of being.
